Simone Cook has been named Account Executive and Social Media Manager at Sonshine Communications. In her new positions, Cook will lead public relations initiatives and social media efforts for several of the firm’s clients.

Since joining the company in 2014, Simone had served as Account Coordinator and worked on statewide projects including the Florida Department of Transportation’s “Drive It Home” campaign, and the Florida Department of Health’s “Sistas Speak” videos. Simone also manages the newsroom for Sonshine’s sister company, Black PR Wire, and coordinated the roll out of a nationwide Social Media Webinar with corporate partner, Business Wire. That epic event drew thousands of participants and was heralded a major success nationwide. Most recently, Simone’s oversight of the “I Choose Health” Social Media Campaign for the Jessie Trice Community Health Center landed the prestigious “Communication of the Year Award” national honors from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.

Simone is a proud graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. She is a member of numerous community groups and organizations including the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade and the National Black Public Relations Society (NBPRS), among others.
